Location: River Street (Region Road 10) and Concession 6 from +/- 145m east of Hwy 7/12 to the west limit of the Village of Sunderland (+/- 840m west of Hwy 7/12, Township of Brock

 

Objective and Description

Objective: Engineering design and approvals for road reconstruction and urbanization including watermain, storm and sanitary sewer replacement, realignment of the Albert St intersection, coordination with MTO for intersection improvements at Hwy 7/12 to match Ministry design and staging, roadway illumination analysis and design, parking study and on-street parking layout, accessibility reviews, streetscape improvements and coordination of major utility relocations within the downtown/urban area of the Village of Sunderland.

Also included was the design, coordination/approval and traffic staging design for watermain and storm sewer outlet on Concession 6 to approximately 145m east of Hwy 7/12

Road, sewer and watermain up-grades were designed in recognition of potential impacts to the business community and surrounding residents.  Construction staging was determined through public consultation regarding spring and fall events, business delivery schedules and the ability to maintain pedestrian access.  The finished product has resulted in an attractive downtown core with reduced utility clutter, improved pedestrian safety and illumination.
