Geomorphic & Environmental Sciences

Our specialty is the integration and application of geomorphic and environmental sciences toward the management, protection, and enhancement of fluvial and coastal systems. Services are tailored to the specific needs of a project, and can include a range of activities such as inventories of the current health and stability of fluvial and coastal features, geomorphological assessments, delineation of hazard lands associated with rivers and coasts, and development and implementation of restoration plans. These services are provided in support of environmental assessments as part of the planning and development process, conceptual and detailed channel design, and agency permitting.

Geomorphic Solutions has the expertise and resource base to provide comprehensive data collection, and sensitivity analyses for both fluvial and coastal systems. We also have the depth of skill and experience to take channel rehabilitation and realignment projects from desktop concepts to functional channels, employing innovative design solutions based on the current state-of-the-science. We provide defensible science-based assessments and are well-versed in the current legislative, policy and permitting framework of Ontario.
